Book Review: Wild Card by Elsie Silver

OMG, THIS BOOK!!! Where do I even start?! This was my favourite Elsie Silver book yet! I have read all her books and LOVED every single one of them, but this one... it just stole my heart!💜

Elsie has a way of making you truly feel and connect to her characters, and she did that so beautifully here. I loved Bash! He has a grumpy and prickly exterior, but he has a heart of gold underneath. He was hurt so many times, and it was heartbreaking to read. Seeing how Gwen brought light and joy back into his life was so wholesome, and seeing how he truly loved every single part of her was beautiful🥹 They truly made each other better people. They healed one another. I also loved that Bash not only recognised when his behaviour was wrong but made amends for it as well!

I loved Gwen! She is one of my favourite FMCs. She was a positive, confident, and selfless character. I really admired her passion for yoga, her determination to look on the bright side of life, and her ability to reflect. She had her own baggage, but she never let it get her down.

Her determination to go after what she wanted was inspiring, and I love how well she saw through Bash's walls. I loved how, no matter what, she made it clear she chose him every single time.

And let's not forget Clyde! He is perhaps one of the best side characters I've ever read! He was hilarious! Constantly stirring up trouble and playing matchmaker! I honestly never knew what to expect from him, and the number of times I laughed out loud while reading this book was mostly thanks to him! Clyde and Bash's friendship was a highlight of this book, along with Clyde's relationship with Gwen... he was like the father she always wanted!

I adored seeing everyone else in this book as well! Especially West... gosh, I love that man! He also had me laughing out loud at times!

This book was everything to me! And it was the perfect ending to the Rose Hill series!
